Have your students started learning their sight words yet? How many are they required to know? My students always learned up to 100 (and some beyond!) even though only 30 were required per the curriculum. No matter how many sight words they need to learn, be sure you are mixing in some FUN and easy sight word activities that aren't just boring old flashcards.
Sight word activities are always my favorite because they are so versatile! You can do the same activity each week, but just change up the sight words to make it different for your students. Easy, peasy, right?!?
Today, I am going to share some of my favorite, easy-sight word activities that take little to no prep to create and set up.

Planning Your Sight Word Activities
When planning my sight word centers, I found that my students did not care for the “sight word of the day” type worksheets. They loved to practice their sight words using word work activities, games, or hands-on activities. Each day I would pick from one of the ideas below. My students would use whatever sight words they were practicing from the Rainbow Sight Word program. Now you have differentiated easy sight word activities!
Word Work Ideas
Whiteboards and Dry Erase Markers
Students can practice spelling their words, have a friend “quiz” them using the whiteboard, or use their words in a sentence. Just erase and keep going!
Editable Sight Word Cut and Paste
I would create these once a week (usually Friday) to review any sight words we were practicing as a class. To make it really easy, I created one for every week at the beginning of the year. So, all I had to do was print and copy when that week came up! My students loved using scissors to cut out the letters and having to unscramble the words. You can grab the template here.

Stamps
Using a piece of paper, stamps, and an ink pad, students will spell their sight words.
Sight Word Game Ideas
Sight Word Memory
Create flashcards, making sure you have two of each sight word. I just wrote the sight words on index cards. Put the cards face down in rows. The first player will pick up two cards: if they are a match, they get to keep them. If not, they put them back. Continue playing until all matches have been found.
Editable Sight Word Bingo
This game was always a hit! I made sure to play with my students before I had them try it on their own during centers. You can use any 30 words, just type and print out the cards. First, designate one student as the caller (have them take turns) and call out a word from the list. The rest of the group will find that word and cover it on their bingo mat. Whoever gets 5 in a row first wins! Make sure to grab a free sample to try out at the end of this post.

Sight Word Write the Room
With this FREE template, you can type in 12 words on the write the room cards. Hang up the cards around the room, and have students find them. Once they find a card, they write it on their recording sheet next to the matching number. Get this free Write the Room template here.

(Note: Please download it to your computer first. Then, open it using Adobe or the editable text portion will not work properly)
Hands-On Sight Word Activities
Magic Words
Grab paint, white construction paper, and a white crayon. Students will write all their words on paper using the white crayon first. Then, they will paint over it to reveal their sight words!

Play-Dough Sight Words
Have students roll play dough like a snake, then create letters to spell each sight word.

Magnet Words
Using magnets and a cookie sheet, have students create their sight words.
Pom-Pom Dab
Attach a pom-pom to a clothespin, and have your students dab a sight word. You can write the word for them beforehand or they can do it using a black marker.
