I’m Kristina, a former Kindergarten teacher and the founder of Sweet for Kindergarten, and I know firsthand how overwhelming phonics instruction can feel.
In my very first year teaching Kindergarten, I was handed phonics instruction with no real training, no clear guide, and no idea where to start. I spent countless hours piecing things together, second-guessing myself, and wondering if I was doing enough for my students.
Over time, through research, trial and error, and years in my own classroom, everything finally clicked. My students made real progress, phonics instruction felt doable, and teaching became so much more joyful.
I started Sweet for Kindergarten for the teachers standing exactly where I once stood, looking for simple, effective, and research-based phonics support that actually works in real classrooms.
Sweet for Kindergarten supports and serves Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade educators and parents with research-based literacy ideas, curriculum, and training focused on phonics, writing, and fine motor development. Everything we create is designed to be hands-on, simple, and effective, so teachers and families can build strong literacy foundations without the overwhelm.
