Halloween is always such a fun time in kindergarten! Between the costumes, candy, pumpkins, and excitement, your students are probably already counting down the days until Halloween. But if you’re planning a Kindergarten Halloween party or just looking for a few fun Halloween activities for Kindergarten, you definitely don’t need to spend hours prepping complicated crafts and games.
I’ve rounded up 13 easy, low-prep Halloween activities that are perfect for celebrating in the classroom. There are a few learning activities mixed in with games, crafts, movement, and even a Halloween treat, so you can easily pick a few favorites and have most of your Halloween party planned!

Let’s start with the most important part of any kindergarten Halloween party… the snack!
Frankenstein pudding cups are an easy Halloween treat that kids will love. Use green pudding cups or add green food coloring to vanilla pudding, then decorate the outside of a clear cup with a Frankenstein face using a sharpie and googly eyes. Top with some whipped cream and crushed oreos!
You can make these ahead of time or let students decorate their own cups as part of the party. Either way, it’s a simple Halloween snack without needing to bake anything!
Directed drawings are one of my favorite low-prep Halloween activities for Kindergarten because they’re fun for students while still sneaking in some listening and fine motor practice. Choose a Halloween-themed directed drawing, walk students through it one step at a time, and then let them add their own details and color their picture. These also make the cutest Halloween classroom displays!

Teacher Tip: Save this activity for after a high-energy game. It’s an easy way to calm everyone back down while still keeping the Halloween fun going.
You can absolutely sneak a little math practice into your Halloween celebration! For this Halloween kindergarten math activity, students count the pieces of candy shown in a ten frame and practice identifying the matching number. It’s simple enough for students to complete independently and makes a great morning work activity, math center, early finisher activity, or one of the stations during your kindergarten Halloween party.

If you want to include a Halloween keepsake without breaking out a bunch of different supplies, try a Five Little Pumpkins handprint poem. Students create a handprint keepsake to go along with the classic Five Little Pumpkins rhyme. It’s a cute way to combine a familiar Halloween poem with a simple art activity. Plus, it makes an adorable keepsake for families!

You really can’t go wrong with Bingo for a classroom party. Halloween Bingo is easy for kindergarten students to understand, everyone can play at the same time, and you don’t need a ton of supplies.
Use this editable Halloween version so you can customize the game for your students, then use candy corn, mini erasers, pom-poms, or other small manipulatives as Bingo markers. It’s one of those classic kindergarten Halloween party games that you can pull out year after year.
This is one of those Halloween party activities that looks like you planned something elaborate…but it’s actually incredibly easy. Grab a small round pumpkin and set up plastic cups or empty toilet paper rolls as bowling pins. Or you can buy one to use every year, like this candy corn and pumpkin set! Students take turns rolling the pumpkin and seeing how many pins they can knock down.
You could even sneak in some math by having students count how many pins they knocked over!
Need a completely no-prep Halloween activity? Turn on a Halloween song! Five Little Pumpkins and Five Little Ghosts are both perfect for younger students. Encourage students to sing along, use their fingers to count, or add simple movements. This is especially helpful when you have five minutes to fill between Halloween party activities and don’t want to start something new.
For an easy Halloween craft for kindergarten, make a fluffy ghost using cotton balls! Give students a simple ghost outline and have them glue cotton balls inside to fill it in. Add black construction paper or googly eyes for the face, and you’re done! It’s a cute, low-prep Halloween activity that also sneaks in some fine motor practice, and you only need a few basic supplies you probably already have in your classroom.
A Halloween sensory bin is an easy, low-prep activity that kids will love exploring! Start with black beans as the base, then add some fake spider webs, plastic spiders, mini pumpkins, eyeballs, bats, skeleton bones, Halloween erasers, or any other spooky little items you have on hand. Add scoops, tongs, or small cups for even more fine motor practice. This makes a fun Halloween activity for kindergarten during centers or your classroom Halloween party!

Here’s another Halloween game that requires virtually no prep. Ask students silly Halloween-themed “Would You Rather?” questions and have them choose their answer.
Students can raise their hands to vote, turn and talk to a partner, or move to different sides of the classroom based on their answers. It’s an easy Kindergarten Halloween party activity that also gets students talking, listening, and explaining their choices.
After all that dancing, bowling, Bingo, and sugar, you’re probably going to want something QUIET. Choose a favorite Halloween picture book, have everyone settle into your classroom meeting spot, and end your party with a Halloween read-aloud.
You could keep it completely simple and just enjoy the story together, or ask a few comprehension questions along the way. This is also a great transition if your Halloween party happens toward the end of the school day.
My final Halloween party tip is one I learned after years in the classroom: always have a backup activity. Sometimes the game you thought would take 20 minutes takes seven. Sometimes there’s an awkward 10-minute gap before dismissal. And sometimes your students just need something QUIET.
Print a few no-prep Halloween activities for kindergarten ahead of time and keep them nearby. Color by code activities, Halloween math worksheets, literacy pages, writing activities, and other print-and-go options are perfect for those extra pockets of time.
