Here’s the simple 3-step system I use every single month:

✨ 1. Start smaller than you think
Your habit doesn’t need to be the full thing.
Want to work out? The habit is getting dressed and going downstairs.
Want to track macros? The habit is opening the app at the same time every day.

✨ 2. Stack it onto something you already do
After brushing my teeth → workout clothes out
After bedtime → skincare
Before sitting down to work → my drink

Your routine becomes the reminder.

✨ 3. Make it fun
If your habit feels like a chore, you won’t stick with it.
Add something you enjoy, like a cute cup to drink you water, matching workout set, a favorite podcast on your walk, or even romanticizing a little ritual.
We repeat what feels good... so make your habits enjoyable.

I stopped starting over when I stopped relying on motivation

🥪 Episode 2 of our sandwich series and this one is the sandwich that started it all.

This is our at-home take on the chicken + prosciutto sandwich I’ve been obsessed with since our Southern California days (inspired by Mendocino Farms @mendocinofarms ). Sweet, savory, crunchy, fresh… it’s a full-on flavor bomb and somehow everyone at the table loved it—including the kids.

What’s in it:
• Ciabatta bread
• Grilled chicken
• Prosciutto
• Fresh mozzarella
• Tomato slices
• Fresh basil
• Balsamic glaze
• Honey roasted almonds (trust me on this 🤌)

We pressed it this time, sliced it kid-friendly, and it officially earned a permanent spot in our sandwich rotation.

This is how at-home workouts finally became a habi

This is how at-home workouts finally became a habit for me, not a phase.

I stopped relying on motivation and started setting things up so I didn’t have to think:
✅ Same workout time every day
✅ Dumbbells out and ready (I’ve slowly built my set over the years)
✅ Workout clothes laid out the night before = zero decisions
That’s what made it stick.

I also stopped bouncing between random workouts and started following a program I actually enjoy. I use @joinladder because it tells me exactly what to do and keeps me consistent without overthinking it.

Working out first thing in the morning has been a game changer for my energy and focus ☀️ When it’s done early, I show up better for everything else.

I used to say things like “I’m going to drink more

I used to say things like “I’m going to drink more water” and then wonder why nothing changed.

Here’s the shift that actually worked for me ⬇️
I stopped making vague promises and started making plans.

Last year, I committed to one new wellness habit each month... not all at once, not perfectly, just one focus at a time. I’m doing it again this year, and this month’s habit is simple: 100 oz of water a day.

BUT... The key wasn’t motivation.
It was answering the how and when.

Instead of “drink more water,” I thought about the goal (100 oz) and split it up throughout my day with "deadlines". One cup with electrolytes while I workout. One 40oz tumbler before noon. One cup with Beam glow instead of an afternoon coffee. A second 40oz tumbler by nighttime. I don't think about "did I drink enough water?" I already know, the decision making is done.

That’s what makes habits stick.

Make it obvious. Make it easy. Make it fit your real life.

Sundays are usually our reset day, grocery shopping, meal prep, and getting ready for the week, so we started picking one lunch to actually look forward to.

Something simple, a little elevated, and worth slowing down for.

This week’s sandwich was a BLT with a twist:
bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, turkey, sourdough, and a little mayo. Fresh, filling, and exactly what we needed.
